Former President Barack Obama published his memoirs entitled “A Promised Land”, where he wrote his memoirs as former President of the United States.
“A Promised Land”, which went on sale last Tuesday around the world and in 19 languages, including Spanish, makes clear from its title Obama’s unshakeable faith in the future of the country he ruled between 2009 and 2017.
The memoirs of former President Barack Obama, “A Promised Land” sold 887,000 copies in the United States in its first 24 hours after its release.
Obama surpassed his wife, Michelle Obama, who in 2018 sold 725,000 copies of her memoir “Becoming” in a similar period, a book that was on the New York Times “best seller” list for more than a year. Despite this, Michelle Obama expressed a loving message in Twitter for her husband, Barack Obama. “I am very proud of Barack for these heartfelt, thoughtful and beautifully written memoirs,” wrote Michelle.
“I can’t wait for everyone to read it!” Adds the former First Lady of the United States accompanied by a heart emoji.
Obama’s message in his book
The Harvard attorney shared the message from her husband where she says her goal was “to give you an idea of the events and people that shaped me during the first years of my presidency.”
Also, the former president assures that the United States is now, in his opinion, “on the brink of a democratic crisis” due to its extreme polarization.
