- A federal judge rejected Donald Trump’s most important lawsuit about alleged election fraud
- This decision practically left him without options to reverse the electoral results that gave Joe Biden the victory and the White House in the next 2021
Judge rejects major Trump lawsuit in Pennsylvania. A federal judge on Saturday dismissed the most important lawsuit of the campaign of US President Donald Trump.
That lawsuit had been filed in Pennsylvania, and it left him with virtually no options to reverse the outcome of the presidential election, in the state on which the keys to the White House depend.
According to the Efe news agency, Judge Matthew Brann’s decision implies that Pennsylvania counties have a clear path to certify the election result and confirm President-elect Joe Biden as the state winner.
Trump’s lawsuit was intended to invalidate millions of votes
The lawsuit was intended to invalidate millions of votes cast by mail, arguing that the ability for voters to correct errors on their ballots in certain counties hurt Trump’s Republican party.
According to Efe, the magistrate ruled that the campaign had resorted to “faulty and meritless legal arguments, and to speculative accusations,” in its attempt to discard millions of votes.
“In the United States of America this cannot justify the suppression of the right to vote for a single voter, let alone all voters in its sixth most populous state,” Brann wrote.
The decision marks a profound setback for the legal strategy of the Trump campaign, which has already lost other cases in Pennsylvania, in addition to Michigan, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona.
