Galthié very satisfied with his first year in office with the Blues

Coach Fabien Galthié said he was “satisfied” with the year 2020 achieved so far by the XV of France who “went quickly” in his progress, after a third success in a row signed by beating Scotland ( 22-15) Sunday in Edinburgh.

What lessons did you take from the match and were you satisfied?

Absolutely satisfied by the victory which is the objective, the ultimate goal. And completely satisfied with the behavior of the players in a different environment. Absolutely satisfied (also) by this streak of three victories against Wales, Ireland and Scotland. We left with a new project, a new team, a new staff. We went quickly. You had to go fast anyway. We quickly won matches and we tied for first in the Tournament (England won thanks to a better overall point difference, editor’s note).

Are you frustrated that you can’t continue with the same group?

The rules of the game were set three days before the rally (in October) with three match sheets per player. We did it according to the rules of the game, the convention that was proposed to us. There is no frustration. We did what we had to do.

France heading towards an Autumn Nations Cup final against England or is it too early to talk about it?

We’re number one for now. We have one last game left against Italy. If we beat Italy, we will come out first so we have our destiny in hand. During the Tournament, we almost had our fate in hand before our last match against Ireland. We will also have our destiny in hand next weekend. It will be a different story because it will be a new team. We will start from scratch.
