Markus Eisenbichler gave the German ski jumpers their first victory at the first individual World Cup of the season. The 29-year-old will jump 137.5 and 134 meters in Wisla, Poland, and prevail over his team-mate Karl Geiger.
The Oberstdorf violinist reached 133.5 and 128 meters. He made the outstanding German start to the highlight winter with the Ski Flying World Championships, Four Hills Tournament and Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf.
The third best jumper in the team of national coach Stefan Horngacher was Pius Paschke in twelfth place. Martin Hamann landed in 18th place. Severin Freund was 25th. The long injured Olympic champion Andreas Wellinger, however, retired after the first round at his first World Cup start in 609 days.
