The Austrian children’s book author Heinz Janisch has received an award for his complete works.
The Grand Prize of the German Academy for Children’s and Young People’s Literature has been awarded to the children’s book author Heinz Janisch. “Janisch’s poetry leads like a bicycle highway into the realm of the imagination,” said writer Arne Rautenberg during his laudation. The academy pays tribute to the entire oeuvre of the Austrian, who addresses timeless topics from the world of children in his poems, stories and picture books. Janisch has won several prizes for children’s and young people’s literature. The poet’s works have been translated into several languages. (dpa)
