If you own a new iPhone 12 series device, including iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple’s latest update resolves several minor issues.
According to the release notes of the update, ‘iOS 14.2.1’ fixes an issue that caused some MMS messages to not be received, hearing devices suffered a sound quality problem, and the lock screen stopped responding with the iPhone 12 mini.
I didn’t find any of these issues, but if you’re having difficulties with your iPhone 12, this update is worth installing.
To download the update, go to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Software update’.
Reports emerged recently that some iPhone 12 owners are encountering a flicker / tint issue with the OLED screen of the smartphone series. With that said, based on a leaked Apple support document, there seems to be a possibility that a software update could solve the problem. It is not clear if iOS 14.2.1 fixes this problem.
