Facebook has begun publicly testing support for dark mode on iOS, five months after confirming its plans to implement display mode.
The social media giant has confirmed that a select percentage of users now have access to the feature as part of their public testing. Facebook confirmed the news in a collaboration with the reverse applications engineer Jane Manchun Wong.

To see if dark mode is available on your account, you need to make sure you have the latest version of Facebook downloaded from the App Store. Then you need to go into your settings and look for a new ‘dark mode’ option.
If you see the option, it means it is part of the public test and you will see the option to turn dark mode on or off. There is also a “system” option that sticks to the dark mode schedule that you have set up on your iPhone.
It is important to remember that not everyone will see the dark mode option yet. However, now that Facebook has started publicly testing the feature, a full implementation may not be that far off.
