Michael Jordan presents sneakers inspired by the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead | The NY Journal


Michael Jordan showed the sports shoes with which he intends to pay tribute to Mexican culture.

Through his Jordan Brand, in collaboration with Nike, Michael Jordan presented the sports shoes with which it intends to pay tribute to the most famous Mexican celebration in the world: the Day of the Dead.

To celebrate Mexican culture and the Day of the Dead, Air Jordan 1 honors the past and empowers the cultural movements that are shaping the future.Jordan wrote in the social media post showing the first photo of the sneakers.

In the image you can see a special shoe of its classic model Air Jordan 1, designed in white, purple and yellow, which alludes to the Mexican offerings, where the papel picado and the marigold flower are not lacking.

This special edition includes the phrase “For my family”, which symbolizes the feeling of union and community that exists in Mexican culture. A day to celebrate, a day to honor family.

The footwear is already available in different Nike stores around the world.
