The fight for the interim IBF welterweight belt between Nova Scotia boxer Custio Clayton and Russian Sergey Lipinets ended in a majority draw on Saturday night in Connecticut.
A last-minute guest, Clayton, 33, did quite well against an opponent who started as a favorite.
One judge handed a card from 115 to 113 in favor of Clayton, while the other two there were null verdicts from 114 to 114.
This result still allows the Canadian to remain undefeated in 19 fights (18-0-1, 12 KOs). Lipinets, he sees his record go to 16-1-1, with 12 wins before the limit.
