The IRS announced that the deadline to register for a stimulus check was extended to November 21, 2020. This date will provide five more weeks than the original deadline offered, according to the official IRS website.
The IRS asks people who normally do not file a tax return, and who have not received their check, to register as soon as possible using the Non-Filers tool, as This tool will not be available after November 21.
“We took this step to allow more time for those who have not yet received a payment to register and get their money, including those in low-income and underserved communities,” said IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig.
This additional time for November is only for those who have not received their stimulus check and they do not normally file a tax return.
This extension does not apply to taxpayers who requested an extension of time to file their 2019 tax return, whose deadline was October 15.
