- Biden Campaign Warns Trump May Still Win Election
- “If we learned anything from 2016, it is that we cannot underestimate Trump,” the memo cites.
- Trump may still win and “all the evidence we have shows this is going to go all the way”
The campaign of the Democrat and aspiring to the presidency of the United States for the next four years, Joe Biden, warns that President Trump “may still win the race” and is “head to head” in various states of battle, according to publication of New York Post.
“Even the best poll can be wrong and that variables like turnout mean that in various critical states we are fundamentally tied down,” Jen O’Malley Dillon wrote in a three-page message posted Saturday.
Dillon raised Trump’s surprising victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016, even as polls showed the former first lady leading the polls in the run-up to the election.
“If we learned anything from 2016, it is that we cannot underestimate Donald Trump or his ability to fight his way back into the fray in the final days of a campaign, through whatever smear or clandestine tactic he has at his disposal,” he wrote. .
Dillon urged Biden supporters not to “get complacent” because Trump can still win and “all the evidence we have shows this is going to go all the way.”
The race is closer than polls indicate, he said.
The ill-fated memo comes as Biden’s lead in the polls appears to be waning after The Post’s report last Wednesday on the business dealings of the son of Democratic presidential candidate Hunter in Ukraine.
The IBD / TIPP group, released on Saturday, found that Biden still leads the president between 50 and 43 percent, but that support dropped by 2 percentage points from Monday.
The poll also pointed to the potential for “Trump shy” voters among Americans, as well as unexpected turnout in 2016.
