Authorities Searching For Missing 9-Year-Old In Summit County

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday reported a 9-year-old child is missing in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

According to a statement from the SCSO, Stratton Joshua Wright, of Idaho, was hiking with family members west of Bear Lake in the Henry’s Fork area of the forest at approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday when he got separated from the group.

Crews reportedly searched throughout the night, both on the ground and in the air. Additional resources, which include searchers on horseback, dog search teams, and aircraft, are continuing search efforts Thursday.

Wright was wearing a light blue long-sleeeve shirt or hoodie, jeans and Under Armour shoes.

Anyone who has information or believes they may have seen the boy is asked to call SCSO at 435-615-3601 or call 911.
