You won’t find it in a dictionary, but it is a word that has been used frequently in the 36-story 2 Burrard Place project presentation center: Euroluxe.

It’s a term coined by Magnum Projects CEO Lily Korstanje as a means of referring to some of the luxurious ambient touches inspired by some of the most avant-garde venues in the world.

“Let’s say you go to Milan, you walk down those little streets and you come across a small boutique hotel with maybe only six rooms,” says Korstanje, “[You might find] original oil paintings, different linens that are delicious, toiletries you could almost want to eat, such ambient lighting, calibrated and curated to achieve an end goal of comfort. “

It is, Korstanje adds, a word that speaks perfectly to the appearance of the residences at 2 Burrard Place, the third component of Burrard Place, a Reliance Properties and Jim Pattison Developments venture at the north end of the Burrard Street Bridge, but just a short walk away. from Stanley Park, Robson Street, English Bay and the city’s arts and entertainment district. The first components of the development, which occupies an entire city block bounded by Burrard, Hornby, Drake and Davie, comprise the offices at Burrard Place and the towering 54-story One Burrard Place, which Korstanje says is expected to welcome its most occupants. late this year.

A fourth building, another residential tower, is yet to come.

Reliance President and CEO Jon Stovell says Burrard Place, which has been in development for more than 10 years, will ultimately be one million square feet and represent a property “with a true sense of place and seriousness.”

Korstanje says that 2 Burrard Place, which will include 239 one- to three-bedroom homes, has a myriad of Euroluxe touches, ranging from Italian Miton kitchens to German-engineered Gaggenau appliances, slim-profile Laminam countertops, Cielo medicine cabinets and the Italian bedroom wardrobe systems, equipped with reflective and smoked doors, interior lighting with motion sensor and niches under lighting, ideal for displaying small treasures.

A visit to the project’s presentation center, which showcases two elegantly appointed showrooms, demonstrates that luxurious touches speak as much about function as it is about form, or what Korstanje calls “spatial fluidity.”

The smaller of the two is a 502-square-foot unit with a bedroom and a study, but it is equipped with a sliding door system that can close off the main living room, effectively creating a second bedroom, perhaps for an outside. guest of the city.

Korstanje says that about 80 percent of the homes were purchased within about eight weeks after they went on sale, some to buyers who missed out on buying a home at One Burrard Place.

“The quality of the lifestyle we offer is resonating with them and it really appeals to them,” he says, noting that some may have a primary home elsewhere and are looking for a “secondary place to play” in the heart of Vancouver.

“The people who buy here are very demanding. They can buy anywhere in the world. They’ve probably been all over the world … They’ve been to Amsterdam several times, London, New York, Singapore, whatever. They have seen the best of the best. “

They may be world travelers, but residents won’t have to stray far from home to access almost everything they want, courtesy of Club One’s 30,000-square-foot podium-level amenity space and its associated Star Services concierge. both of which, according to Korstanje, have been “a big selling point”.

Here, the offerings extend well beyond the standard fitness rooms found in most condo buildings. Think indoor and outdoor yoga rooms, private dining rooms, a large pool, a sauna, a spa, and a kids’ clubhouse.

“This is really over the top,” says Korstanje, noting that he has never seen anything of this scale in his many years in marketing. “Tutoring rooms, music rooms, wine tasting rooms, wine cellars, private kitchens with Gaggenau appliances. We even have a baby grand there. Those who have discernment understand it. “

Star Services, meanwhile, will allow residents to enhance their activities within these spaces, if they so desire. By contacting the concierge, they could enlist the services of, among others, a sommelier, a personal trainer, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music, and the culinary services of Alex Chen, Executive Chef of Sutton Place’s Boulevard Restaurant. .

There will also be a private, mirrored shopping lounge with a changing room and bar, where representatives from high-end retail stores, such as Holt Renfrew or Nordstrom, Stovell suggests, can bring their clothes and meet residents by appointment. “I don’t think that has ever been done,” he adds.

Meanwhile, Korstanje can provide a colorful answer when people ask him about the concept of Star Services.

“I tell them, ‘In our smart home controlled system, they can go to the utility concierge and say. . . ‘I’m going to host a dinner with an Italian theme and I want Alex to cook for me,’ ”he says. “And then, ‘I want Everything Wine, a lumbrera service, to choose the best Barolos and the best Barbarescos.’ The list goes on. “

The amenities and services combine, Stovell says, to create “a total lifestyle building” that “is unprecedented, I think, not just for us, but for most developers.”

“We always plan to have very important amenities,” he says. “That being said, they definitely evolved and grew in the design process. Also, the overlapping of the luminaires that will provide services and bring those amenities to life, that part definitely evolved. “

The homes, with nine-foot ceilings, engineered hardwoods and floor-to-ceiling windows that will allow for spectacular views, have what Stovell calls “a highly refined design for lifestyle and entertainment.”

“The Euroluxe concept is really geared towards that person who wants the best of everything, but who maybe moves a lot and travels a lot, so they don’t need a huge apartment.

“They just need the apartment to be perfect for them.”
