19-year-old man dies after car accident in Saint-Pie-de-Guire

A 19-year-old man died during the night from Friday to Saturday, in Saint-Pie-de-Guire, in Center-du-Québec.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the police were called around 3 a.m. to proceed to Route 143.

As it exited the road, the vehicle, which is the only one involved in the accident, overturned and collided with two posts, SQ.Hélène St-Pierre, a spokeswoman for the SQ, said.

The driver died from his injuries.

A passenger was taken to a hospital for serious injuries, but his life is not in danger, police said.

“At first glance, one might think that speed could be involved in this event,” said Sgt. St-Pierre.
