13-year-old pedestrian taken to trauma center after being hit by a vehicle in Brampton – Toronto | The Canadian News

A 13-year-old girl was rushed to a trauma center after being struck by a vehicle on the east end of Brampton, authorities said.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Thorndale Road and Rouge Street, southeast of The Gore Road and Castlemore Road, just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday with reports of a collision.

Representatives from Peel Regional Police and Peel Paramedics did not disclose the extent of the girl’s injuries.

The circumstances leading to the collision were unclear as of Wednesday morning, but police added that the driver remained at the scene.

Wednesday’s incident marks the second time in as many days that a teenager has been hit by a vehicle. At the east end of Toronto on Tuesday, a 17-year-old girl died near a high school after being beaten.

Meanwhile, Brampton’s agents closed the immediate area for investigation.
