12 slightly injured when a train crashed in Girona with a fallen tree

A total of 12 people have been bruised or slightly injured in a train with 230 passengers that has collided with a fallen tree on the track between Sils and Caldes de Malavella, both in Girona, according to Renfe, which has been increasing the balance of damage since early afternoon.

According to the company, the event took place shortly before a quarter past four in the afternoon and the incident forced traffic on both tracks to be interrupted.

The railway company has also indicated that buses have been sent to evacuate the travelers, who had already arrived at the place indicated by the Mossos d’Esquadra by half past five in the afternoon.
